Play music with your eyes

Light Sound Colors has a built-in hands-free mode made for players who cannot use their hands. A dot on screen follows your head or your eyes through any ordinary webcam, and holding it on a button presses that button. No special hardware, no installation required, no account required for free play, and the camera is processed entirely on your device. The hands-free mode is part of the free version.

There is also Accessible Play: a separate, much simpler instrument made for disabled players and their helpers.

One question ("How do you play?"), five ways to answer it: touch, a switch (or Space/Enter), head, calibrated eyes, or any motion. Every action makes a warm note and a slow bloom of light. Designed without flashing effects, a helper setup for sound, feel, volume, and camera sensitivity, and a hold-to-leave home button so it can never be exited by accident. Who this is for

Players with limited or no hand use, and the people who play alongside them: families, caregivers, support professionals, and special-education classrooms. Everything runs in the browser on a laptop, tablet, or phone with a front camera, so a locked-down school device works as well as a home computer.

How the pointer works

There are three pointer styles, and a big on-screen button cycles between them:

Head pointer. Move your head and the dot follows. Works instantly with no setup, and it is the most reliable style in tricky lighting or with glasses.
Eye joystick. Look toward an edge of the screen and the dot glides that way. No calibration needed.
Calibrated gaze. After a short on-screen calibration, the dot goes where you look. The calibration is saved on your device so you do not repeat it every visit.

Built for real eye-gaze use

The details that make dwell systems usable day to day are all here:

Adjustable dwell time. A press takes from half a second up to 1.5 seconds of holding the dot on a button; the default is just under one second. The ⏱ button changes it, the setting is saved on your device, and every option is reachable by dwell alone.
Wander tolerance. The dot can drift a little while you hold; a hold does not reset because your gaze trembled.
One dwell, one press. After a press there is a short pause before anything can be pressed again, so a lingering gaze cannot double-fire.
Blink to pause. A deliberate blink pauses or resumes the sound. Natural fast blinks are ignored.
Eyebrow raise to recenter. If the dot drifts, raising your eyebrows for a moment brings it back to center. There is a recenter button too.
Protected off switch. Turning eye control off takes two deliberate dwells within four seconds, so one stray gaze can never strand a player who cannot reach the mouse.
It comes back on by itself. If eye control was on when you left, the next visit turns it back on without needing a click.
Pointer speed you choose. Slower and faster buttons tune how far the dot travels, saved per device.

What you can play

Sweeping the dot across the open canvas paints light and plays whatever instrument is selected, from 18 voices plus drums. The big side buttons switch visuals, color themes, instruments, and brushes, so the whole show is conductable by gaze. Camera Motion mode is also there for players who can move but not touch precisely: wave a hand, or let any motion play.

What it needs, and what it does not do

It needs a device with a front-facing camera and a modern browser. That is all: the tracking runs on your device with no separate eye-tracker hardware.
It does not connect natively to dedicated eye trackers or switch hardware. If you already use an assistive device that moves the regular mouse pointer, it can click everything in the app like any web page, but the built-in gaze mode itself is webcam-based.
Calibrated gaze is the most demanding style: strong glare on glasses or a dark room can degrade it. If that happens, recalibrate with the 🎯 button or switch to the head pointer, which keeps working.
Light Sound Colors is a recreational instrument, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or improve any condition, and provides no health benefit.

The camera is processed live on your device, moment to moment, and is never uploaded or shared. Recording captures the visuals on the canvas, never the camera picture. No photo or camera image is ever stored, full stop.

What is stored on this device: your pointer style, pointer speed and dwell time; your calibration measurements (your hand reach, your body stance, and a gaze model fitted to your own face); your chosen input, theme, visual and instrument. These stay in your browser's local storage until you clear it, and they are never uploaded. They are measurements of how you move, not a record of who you are: nothing here identifies you, no identity template is created, and no camera image is ever saved or sent. A note on flashing lights

The visuals in Light Sound Colors include flashing lights, moving patterns, and rapid color changes, and the app shows a seizure warning before play. If your system's reduce-motion setting is on, the app lowers flash rates in its most intense visuals and starts with gentler settings, and the Speed, Glow, and Trail controls can calm the show further. Free for players, and for the people who help them

The hands-free mode, the instruments, and a large set of visuals are free, with no account and no ads. A one-time $20 unlock adds more visuals, voices, and themes; your unlock key restores it on devices you own, and it is never required for eye control.
