Short version: camera content, microphone content, artwork, and play activity are processed on your device during ordinary play; the app does not upload them. There are no accounts, ads, behavioral analytics, or third-party trackers. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure receives limited connection data when your browser loads the site. Outside ordinary site delivery, information reaches us when you choose one of these actions: clicking Get Pro after accepting the checkout terms, completing a Pro purchase, entering a Pro key, or emailing us. Clicking Get Pro sends a timestamped pre-checkout consent record to Netlify before Gumroad opens; Netlify attaches the submission IP address and ordinary request metadata, even if you do not finish the purchase. Each category is described below.
Light Sound Colors is an accessible browser-based music and visual instrument for play and creativity. It makes tones and beats using live sound synthesis plus a small set of bundled instrument recordings (public-domain one-shots that ship with the app and are never fetched from a third party), and a sampler that can record short clips from your microphone onto three pads. It paints visuals on a canvas that react to your touch, your voice, or your movement. It contains no advertising, chat, user-generated content, or objectionable material. Children should use it with adult supervision; the health and safety notice in the app applies to players of every age.
Light Sound Colors is used through this website; it is not installed. If native app-store versions are released in the future, this policy will be updated to describe them before they ship.
Light Sound Colors does its work locally, in real time, on the device in your hands. It does not create a profile of you, and no server receives your play. Your notes, your camera, your microphone and your artwork are processed in your browser and are not uploaded by the app. We test each production release for unexpected third-party network transmissions.
The app's own network activity falls into three categories, and none sends camera content, microphone content, artwork, or play activity:
During ordinary play, the instrument is designed not to send us camera content, microphone content, artwork, or play activity. The limited information that can reach us is listed on this page: hosting connection data, a pre-checkout consent record when you click Get Pro, a Pro key and activation record when you unlock, purchase information Gumroad shares after a completed purchase, and an email you choose to send.
Every category of information this website or the app touches is listed below. Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, we rely on steps you ask us to take before entering a contract and performance of a contract for checkout, purchase delivery, licensing, and purchase support; compliance with legal obligations for required tax, accounting, and consumer-transaction records; and our legitimate interests in securely delivering the site, preventing abuse and fraud, responding to other messages, documenting checkout choices, and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims. We rely on legitimate interests only where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. The checkout “consent record” documents acceptance of Terms and digital-delivery choices; it is not consent used as the data-protection legal basis.

In every case the microphone is never uploaded or shared by the app. If you never grant microphone access, these features simply stay off and the rest of the app works fine. You can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.
Two features can use your camera if you allow it:
In both features the camera view is processed live, on your device, moment to moment, and is never uploaded or shared. The camera feed is never written into a recording either: the Rec button captures the visuals drawn on the canvas, not the camera picture. No camera image is ever kept: the app has no feature that stores a photo or picture of any kind. If you never grant camera access, these features stay off and everything else keeps working. You can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.
Light Sound Colors keeps some small preferences in your device's local storage so the app feels right each time you open it. These are the categories; the Storage Notice lists every single key by name:
These are preference flags and small settings, described factually here so you can verify them yourself. The app never stores any image or photo of you. The only recordings that ever exist are the ones you make deliberately: the screen clip you save with the Rec button, which goes straight to your own device's downloads (with the microphone mixed in only if you left it on), and the short sampler clips you record onto the REC pads in Beats, which stay in this browser's storage until you erase them, or only for the session if the browser refused to store them. Nothing in this list is sent anywhere by the app. Clearing the site's data removes everything the browser holds for us, which is the preferences in this list and the sampler clips; a screen clip you saved with Rec is an ordinary file in your Downloads and has to be deleted there. Every key is listed one by one, with what it holds, how long it stays, and how to delete it, in the Storage Notice: that register is on the page itself, not in documentation you cannot see.
Light Sound Colors is free to use. There is a single optional one-time purchase, Light Sound Colors Pro ($20 USD on the website), that unlocks the full set of visualizers, the Journey stories, the extra instrument voices and color themes, and turns off the gentle upgrade reminder. The exact current contents of Pro are listed on the homepage and in the app's Pro sheet.
On the website, purchases are completed through Gumroad, Inc., which acts as the reseller and merchant of record for eligible transactions under its own terms: the checkout, the charge on your statement, and the receipt come from Gumroad. Gumroad and its payment processors handle your card or bank details under Gumroad's own privacy policy; we never see or store them. Gumroad shares with us the email address you used and a record of your purchase, and we use that only to deliver your unlock code and to help you with licensing, support, refunds, accounting, and fraud prevention; we do not use it for marketing and we never sell or share it.
Consent records. When you tick both checkout boxes and click Get Pro, a timestamped pre-checkout record is sent before Gumroad opens. It is created even if you close or abandon checkout. It contains the event, document versions, app release, UTC time, and delivery-consent choice; Netlify also attaches the submission IP address and request metadata. The submitted fields contain no name, email address, license key, sale ID, or order number. When a valid key is successfully activated, a separate record may contain the document versions, app release, UTC time, one-way hash of the key, Gumroad sale and order identifiers, and coarse country. Recording is best-effort and may fail without blocking checkout or activation.
Purchases are currently made only on this website. If native app-store versions are released in the future, their purchases will be handled by the store's own billing under the store's own terms, and we will never see your payment details there either. The device stores a local flag that remembers Pro is unlocked. The website and license checker may also create the pre-checkout and activation records described above.
There are no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers in Light Sound Colors, and there is no sign-up or login. We do not sell personal information or disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The limited operational information described on this page is used only to deliver and secure the site, administer purchases and licenses, provide support, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.
One honest scope note: this promise is about the Light Sound Colors app and this website. If you buy Pro on the website, checkout happens on Gumroad's own site, which sets its own cookies and may run its own analytics and marketing pixels under Gumroad's privacy policy. None of that ever runs inside Light Sound Colors.
We do not retain camera content, microphone content, artwork, or play activity; sampler clips and your saved loop pattern exist only in your own browser's storage, under your control, for as long as you keep them. The limited operational records described above are kept as follows:
You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you: your correspondence, and your purchase record where the law does not require us to keep it for the period above. Email omer@halalhelper.com and we will act and reply within 30 days. There is no account to close and nothing to prove; if we cannot match your request to anything we hold, we will tell you that plainly. The same address handles a request to see a copy of what we hold, or to correct it.
Everything the app itself stores lives in your own browser rather than with us, so you can remove it yourself at any moment: clear the site data for lightsoundcolors.com in your browser's privacy or site-settings screen, which erases every item in the local-storage list above in one step. On a shared, classroom, or public device, please do this when you are finished.
Light Sound Colors contains no advertising, chat, user-generated content, or objectionable material. It is a general-audience instrument rather than a children's product, but children may use it in schools and with adult supervision. Ordinary play creates no account and does not upload camera content, microphone content, artwork, or play activity. The host still receives ordinary connection data when the site loads, and purchase, license, or support actions send the limited operational information described above. Purchases and support email are intended for adults or staff. On a shared or classroom device, clear site data when finished.
If this policy ever changes, we will update the text here and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be reflected on this page, which is linked from the app and the store listing.
